This Sun Salutation steps back to a Low Lunge which is great for stretching out the back quad and hip flexor and a perfect Surya Namaskar (Sun Salute) for activating the spleen and stomach meridians as in the Late Summer Yoga e-Book and video clip.
Activating these meridians (energy channels) brings balance to these organs, and provides us with the ability to feel nourished and grounded.
