At "Laos in NYC: Fashion Meets Philanthropy" on December 5, 2015, Brett Dakin was honored for his nearly ten years of service as Chair of Legacies of War. Brett served as a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Laos in the late 1990s, an experience captured in his memoir, “Another Quiet American: Stories of Life in Laos.” In these brief remarks, Brett reflects upon the extraordinary progress Legacies of War has made in eradicating the scourge of Vietnam War-era unexploded ordnance leftover in Laos.
